Hi everyone! Today we bring a new Modular Map! As recently requested in our Discord server, here it is, the Modular Ruins.
You can now build your own city ruins map, temple ruins map or any other you can imagine.

This is the first fully modular map. That means that every tile can be placed next to any other tile, no restrictions.

We made 3 variations: Day, Night and Fog. Possibilities are literally infinite, but attached are a few examples we made in a couple of minutes each.

As always, the Foundry VTT module is ready-to-play as it comes preconfigured with walls and lights. Just drag and drop into the scene and you are ready to go.

It also works with the Modular Maps Procedural Generator so you can generate your own ruins even faster. More info on how to use it here.
Huge thanks to theripper93 for his work with the module. Go check out their stuff here. This footage is not edited or sped up.

Modular Maps are quite experimental, and this one is the first one with no border walls or trees that we do, so please, don't hesitate to share your feedback with us so we know how we can expand this in part 2.

Enjoy!

Just put together a map with this tile set the other day, and surprise! A modular pack came out that is compatible. On my map, I stretched shine 1 to be 18 x 18 squares. It looked like it should be a big central piece, so I was going to use it as such.

It does look like a central piece indeed. It won't be 100% seamlessly tileable if you stretch it, but it's good enough. With the Generic Ruins 1 you can now have a few more of these. If you have any ideas or suggestions of tiles for part 2, let us know!

Hello. i a very fond of this idea of modular tiles to be able to improvise on my players ideas (or mine). I love what you did with those ruins ! It is all the more smart as it can easily be used in modern settings also. ____ This gave me the idea of tent camp tiles, which would be useful for any large nomad camp, or refugee scene be it a modern one, oriental or berbere caravanserail, a military camp, a chase or mission in the slums or the favelas, a kings court voyage, the flock of shepards at an event, ... By avoiding time specific things like cars, or barrils, or letting them as a bonus, it could be used in a large variety of time and settings. Maybe with a little cheating , one could add non-anachronic carts and quasi mobile-home or caravans.

Glad you like it and find it useful! Honestly, our idea wasn't to make it also compatible with modern themes, but you are right. Although this project is only fantasy themed (for now) I'll keep an extra eye for these details in the future. Also, thanks for the tent/nomad modular map idea. I'm a huge fan of nomad cultures, so we will for sure do a Modular Map for that in the future. Into the list it goes!
