Jun, the Goddess of the Sun
All civilizations over the history have worshiped the Sun in a way or another. To some of them the Sun means strength and power, but to the peaceful people of Airin it means life, light and good fortune.
For them the horizon is the line that separates good from evil. In the sky resides all goodness and behind the horizon the exact opposite.
Lucky for them, every morning Jun brings the Sun up to sky and fills everything with light. She tries to keep the Sun in the highest point but then the Sun rolls down the sky and ends up lost under the horizon once again.
Every morning, if Jun has managed to win the fight against the evilness of the night, She will bring back the Sun and try again.

The Shrine of the Sun
The people of Airin believe that one day Jun won't be able to win the fight against the night and the Sun will not come up ever again, plunging the world into an eternal darkness.
On the other hand, if Jun is strong enough to put an end to the night, She will be able to hold the Sun onto the sky, bringing Izar into a new era of prosperity and never-ending day and light.
That's why after harvest season Airin people gather around the Shrines of the Sun and offer their best crops hoping that Jun takes all that food and becomes strong enough to overcome the forces of the night.
Shrines of the Sun can be found all across Airin lands, and even though its specific layout is different from place to place, they are all pretty similar. A few long stone platforms built over a lake in a fertile valley.

Does the ceremony work?
Next morning after the ceremony is completed, all food is gone, it always looks like Jun was really hungry.
The truth is that animals eat or grab all the food over the night. Some Airin people know that and believe that it's Jun who calls all animals for help so they can carry the food to Her.
But some times it's homeless people, thieves or other scoundrels who take the food and feast over the beliefs of Airin people.

Quest idea

Use the offerings as a trap to catch a group of thieves who tries to steal and sell the food.
