Sup guys.

Quick poll I wanted to makes since I need your opinion on this.

So, I had some thoughts about the design of the rpg elements in the game.

Mainly about how to handle mag design and function of enemys and this poll is just to decide what you would prefer.

Compact maps with constantly moving enemys you can dodge throught (Meltys quest style) like the farm if any of you saw that.:

Large maps with randome moving enemys which chase you, this is the most standart aproach I think. Have seen that alot in other games so I thought I "need" to do the same:

But now I kind of came to the realization that big maps are quite confusing if you don't know them already and the randomely chasing enemys are quite the diceroll since I can't really know how many of them you should be able to catch before you die. (especially in mission and stroy stuff) since I work on the main mission right now.

In my honest opinion, I think the compact maps are much less confusing and I won't have to worry as much that one of you might get lost in there.

And trying to not get hit by the enemys in Melty's quest also was some extra fun. (pls don't get mad at me for taking inspiration this is the first game I make I don't want to try something extremly complicated xd )

So you'll decide about how we handle this.

Thx for your support^^

I agree with this comment 100%. Just approaching it from a "what feels more natural" angle is the best way currently.

I personally like variety, having different approaches and pacing gives more life to the maps. As you said this your first attempt, using mainly you're own interest and inspiration is fine. I say focus on what gives you that "fun to work on" feeling until you get more footing in the game.
