Hi Folks,

This one was a bit hard to find at the end of yesterdays release, so I figured I should give it its own separate post.

Thank you again for your encouragement and support folks, I can't tell you how much it motivates me.

Here's to an exciting 2017!

Cheers,

Chris.

The Byzantine Sundial Calendar - The 2nd Patron Series Project - (AKA The London Sundial Calendar)

Byzantine Sundial Calendar Preview, by Clickspring. tl;dr - If you would like to help support the creation of these videos, then head on over to the Clickspring Patreon page: https://www.patreon.com/clickspring ________________________________________________________ A very special thank you to Patrons Dan Keen, Samuel Irons, Sean Kuyper, Mark Kobey and Arnold Madnick ________________________________________________________ First off, let me say thank you. Thank you to all of you who have subscribed to the Clickspring Youtube channel, hit the like button and taken the time to leave a comment. It's thanks to you that I am even in the position of being able to consider growing the channel via Patreon, and I want you to know how much I appreciate your support. Why Patreon? I've been overwhelmed by the response to the project videos, and I'm at the point now where I can see an exciting future for the channel. I'd like to be able to provide a broader range of project videos, as well as release videos more frequently. I'm sure that you would already know that it takes a lot of time (and a reasonable amount of money!) to develop and make the projects, as well as shoot and edit the videos. So I'd like your support to help me take this to the next level. Your financial contribution will help me to buy project materials, replace worn cutters etc, as well as devote more time to the research required to develop new project ideas. If you like the sound of that, then please show your support with a monthly pledge, and know that you are helping to create something of value for us both. Kind regards, Chris. ---- $1 per Month reward: ---- Contribute $1 or more, and you get my sincere thanks for your support, as well as the warm fuzzy feeling of knowing that you're helping to keep the lights on at Clickspring. As a thank you for your support, you also get access to exclusive video content known as The Patron Series - A multi part video series of build projects, created specifically for Clickspring Patrons. You get full access to the plans associated with each Patron Series project, and as an extra bonus I will select one Patron and give them the actual project to keep, at the conclusion of the project. The 1st patron Series project is complete (The Wedge Style Hand Vise - 5 Episodes), and the 2nd Patron Series project (The Byzantine Sundial-Calendar) will commence in Feb 2017. ---- Early Video Access: ---- $3 or more per month Contribute $3 or more, and you still get my thanks, that warm fuzzy feeling, and access to all of the Patron Series content, but you also get early access to the free YouTube video content. I'll post the video links here for all Clickspring Patreon supporters at least 1 week before the standard release on YouTube. You get first access to all of the newest Clickspring videos. ---- Your Name In The Description Box: ---- $30 or more per month You get all of the above rewards (warm fuzzies, early YouTube videos, The Patron Series content), plus the fun of having your name (or username of your choice) recorded in the description box of every Clickspring video going forward, whilst you maintain this level of support. ---- Your name In The Video Credits: ---- $100 or more per month This superhuman contribution entitles you to all of the above (warm fuzzies, early YouTube videos, The Patron Series content, name in the description box) and also entitles you to a special place in the Clickspring video itself. Your name (or username of choice) will appear in the on-screen credits for every Clickspring video going forward, whilst you maintain this level of support. WOOOOOO!!! Can't wait!

Mike Michelizzi

I don't understand how you can manage your time well enough to get all this done AND make videos, let alone spend time with your family! The skill involved is a while other matter! Thanks for the effort!

Bruce Edney

Awesome - I'll be following along - Looking forward to it

Really looking forward to this build!

Can't wait to watch both projects. going to be amazing!

Eric Vincent

Can't wait to watch this next project, Good choice. Hoe big of a challenge is it for you?

Peter W. Meek

The antikythera has always been an object of fascination for me. I've never done any clock making (just ordinary metal butchering) so this will be something to dwell on.

Johnno Dee

You have that perfect mix of art and science in your creations - kinetic sculptures or poetry in motion. Are you using Michael Wright's design for the Antikythera with the changes suggested by the AMRP? Looking forward to both series!

Stephen

Well, this is just... neat. Something to watch while I cobble together the pieces I need for my shop and start turning raw materials and metals into, well, initially different scrap metal. I think the best thing about this series is the idea there is a light at the end of the tunnel while putting in the time learning to do this.

Ray White

Looking forward to both builds. Sorry to be the spelling pedant, but it's spelt Buenos Aires........

clickspring

I shall console myself that like a misprinted postage stamp, such a unique feature will surely increase its value! Cheers Ray :)

Cheers Johnno - I'm using the most recent research from Tony Freeth and the AMRP

Cant wait to see that build happen :)

Neel Pawar

what filming equipment do you use?

Anonymous

Now that looks really exciting as well! Thanks for the vid with a bit more depth :-)

clickspring

Hey Neel, I have a Panasonic HC X920 camcorder, and for lighting I use the shop fluorescent lights plus some clip on desk lamps

I'm so excited for this! Signed up for patreon the second I saw this up on YouTube then realised I should have done that ages ago, loved binge watching the hand vice project! Amazing work as always Chris!

Jose Villanueva

Big fan! Can't wait for the calander...

Kassidy M Kearey

Absolutely loved your series making the Clock, looking forward to this one, and now a patron as of today. Any chance of getting Barcelona on the northern hemisphere face? ;) Keep up the great work! Cheers!

clickspring

Terrific to have your support Kassidy - yes every chance on Barcelona being included! I'll set up a vote for all Patrons later in the build :)

Michael Hansen

Chris your videos are fantastic and your workmanship is outstanding. Hoping to work-along on projects as I dive into the Paetron series. Thanks, Michael.
