Such an amazing series to watch!

Anonymous

When you're just about to go to bed but you can't because you get a notification that Chris uploaded a new video

Stubbs

Whelp, there goes the next 20 minutes of my life

Anonymous

Darn.. guess I'll just have to start the series over since it's been so long

Luke Pettit

Lefties are so talented ;-) is the printer laser, or inkjet or can you use either.

Anonymous

You're frickin' amazing. Great work.

Aidan Jeffes

I've gotta say, as much as I've loved the little clickspring clips videos, I've really missed the full length ones

Anonymous

Beautiful !!!

Anonymous

Great to see some visits from QC! :p

Benny

Absolutely amazing. Love your work Chris. I hope your cat's name isn't Meatball :-)

Anonymous

Chris, you make the most satisfying and desirable projects and the most prestigious professional videos.

Anonymous

I want to have 10% of your skills. Thank you for sharing. Great job!

Anonymous

Incredible as always!

Anonymous

Fantastic end to a fantastic series Chris. They are all equal parts mesmerizing and inspiring.

Scott Clausen

I can not say enough how much I have enjoyed your videos. I learn something each time as well as appreciating your abilities. The only downside is that there is now a wait until the next project. Until then I'll just have to rewatch some of the old project videos. Thanks again, Chris.

Anonymous

I’m so glad I found your channel, your craftsmanship is amazing, can’t wait to see what you do next!

Gordon Burns

What a lovely piece, especially reaching to the sun. your engraving skills have been well learned, Chris. Well done, mate.

Paul Busby

Yay, So good to watch. That engraving work is magic. Any sneak peeks on what the next project will be?

Anonymous

Well worth the wait. Thank you Chris for taking the time to showcase your craftsmanship with metals, but the video production as well. 10/10. I can't wait for the next project to begin.

Anonymous

I feel like I'm watching Rob Damn a while back when everyone was asking "where's the 4 rotor Rob?". But now it's "where's the antikythera, Chris?". We all know it's coming but the suspense is killing me!

Anonymous

Woot! It has been a great journey, the project, the craftsmanship, and the cinematography are always a treat. Thank you for doing what you do Chris! <3

Anonymous

Can we get more of the cat? That’s what the internet was invent for ;-)

Luther

Great work and a wonderful project completed. I always enjoy getting to watch a new video.

Ingo

Absolutely lovely result and I enjoyed the journey at least as much if not more.

Anonymous

Another work of art Chris, you'll have many a horological museum envious.

A1BASE

Congrats Chris. Cracking job.

MrTridac

I'm sorry. I described you as a clock maker once. I think that was an insult.

Anonymous

I love seeing these things come together, they always look soo nice.

Anonymous

Fantastic work as always, just a joy to watch

Anonymous

Wonderful work it must be scary and exciting to finally engrave the final pieces

clickspring

ha ha! Thank you Luke :) - Laser, its the unfused toner that really makes the transfer pop.

Stu

Great finish to an amazing and beautiful project. Thanks for taking us along on the journey, Chris, it's been an absolute pleasure.

clickspring

Ha ha! Its kinda the same for me too! Still working on getting the paper over the line, will keep you posted :)

clickspring

Now she's had a taste of the bright lights, there's gonna be no stopping her :)

Jeff Armstrong

Brilliant video as ever. I noticed that you used the scriber to apply the Loctite. I would have thought the oiler pen would have been a better choice. In my own shop I've used a 23G hypodermic needle - with the tip ground off square - as a pen to apply Loctite to the 1 & 2 mm machine screws I use on my project.

clickspring

Thank you mate - I think you're right on the oiler nib. Honestly, it didn't even occur to me to use it!

Duncan Luddite

Congratulations Chris ^^^What they all said :D ^^^

Chris Muncy

Chris, I don't what it is, but your videos have a very calming effect on me. Glad I watched this in the afternoon when I needed a great distraction. Beautiful work as always.

Boguslaw Smalec

Excelent as always. Can't wait for the next project!

Clifton Ballad

Now I have to back and watch the whole series again... Your QC department is awesome. Glad they approve. I think the best summation of the level and quality of the work you do is that you went to the effort of doing a beautiful engraving job on parts on the inside of the mechanism. Most people would have left them slightly rough just because "you cant see it from my house" just to save a bit of time and here you go making it as fancy as can be, so that 1000's of years from now some poor archaeologist will be looking at a fancy 3d Xray of your part wondering why they put so much effort on the inside... Cheers and congratulations on the beautiful work! -Clif (PS can you do a 1000 hours style vid of this build as well? Please?? :) )

Brandon

You made me wait. You made me wait so long. But it was soooo worth it!

Adam Slagle

I’m amazed at the finished product. It’s a work of art, and it didn’t lessen the impact one bit that I followed it step by step in the making. In fact, it’s only enhanced my appreciation. Gorgeous work, Chris!

Anonymous

Absolutely gorgeous.

Michael Lloyd

Only a true craftsman would leave the gift of engraving and bluing INSIDE the case of the device. Amazing and beautiful work. I'm happy that it's completed and a little sad that it's over... so get back to work LOL

Chris

Chris I'm a little confused at how this much artistry snuck into your cat video!

A1BASE

I’d also like to say that that is the most overly complicated bloody screwdriver I’ve ever seen! 😂

A1BASE

Even after watching this entire series I still don’t understand how this thing does what it does. It BLOWS my mind that the original designer figured this out so long ago.

Anonymous

You did it Again. What sort of feelings do you have when finishing a large project like this? I always seems to get a little nervice when doing the final assembly. As if I have not done it dozens of time during the build.

PeetieGonzalez

A wonder to behold. I am still absolutely primed with excited anticipation for news of your exploits with the Antikythera mechanism, and just as much for your complete build. I hope your voice gets better... you do seem to have remnants of a cold in this one. Take care, mate.

Anonymous

*speechless*

Anonymous

A Clickspring assembly.. it's quite an event!! Congratulations Chris, your work is my preferate source of inspiration. Thank you!

clickspring

Thanks very much mate - Will do on the 1000 hours edit, thanks for the suggestion :)

clickspring

Its very much a mixed feeling - I'm glad to have it over the line, but it also feels a little bit odd that its all finished :)

John P

I get that it's traditional but I'm not a fan of the engraving style you're using. Not a criticism, obviously, just a matter of taste. That said, watching you do the work was still engrossing, and you've got a great voice to listen to.

Anonymous

I've really enjoyed this series, and everything else I've seen. You're a fantastic craftsman, and your videos are amazing. I'm really looking forward to Series Three. Thank you.

Kenneth Carlile

What a gorgeous machine. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Benny

Hi Chris. I noticed in the background of some shots of the BSC sitting on your bench, there is a 90-100mm (??) diameter PVC pipe mounted under the 25mm PVC pipe that contains the cabling for your GPOs. What is the larger pipe for??

Gary Levario

Great video as always. Great project really. Can't wait for the 1000 hr cut. Definitely let me know when and where you publish you Antikythera mechanism paper.

Anonymous

Have loved watching the series you are a true master! Great editing for what must be 1000’s of hours of work! Am looking forward to what comes next

Justus Dehegovit

Its Friday, the 13th of December. After a long day at work you come home, tired and exhausted. Your mind craves relaxation, but not just the kinds of medias you have been watching for the last few weeks, months and, in some cases, years. You do your weekly check with your patreon page, and get rewarded. Excitement dares to unfold in your mind. You watch the video, and you enjoy it. The visuals, the sounds, the background music, everything just comes together to a festival of relaxing and enjoyable entertainment. Not only are you entertained, you feel civilised, more civilized than any dry stirred martini could ever make you feel. You feel the urge to applaud, even though you are sitting in your study alone. It was just what you needed after that long time of crave. And then you check back on the first post on the series and realize that it was almost exactly three years before this final part. The cherry on top of this perfect composition.

clickspring

Hi Benny, that's the shop vac ducting. I have a domestic unit outside the shop, with ducting and inlets running around the perimeter - Cheers :)

Anonymous

Hey, do you think the planet is flat? sorry i really wanted to say that XD. well, once again this is a really impressive build and as usually i'm impressed.

Anonymous

Great work, was great to see this come together

veritanuda

Excellent completion and I love how it is so original it has the original errors included it in ;) Seriously it is excellent work and an excellent series to watch. Thank you so very much.. Happy Christmas mate!

Clayton Firth

Wow.. Thanks Chris, it was jaw dropping watching this come together.

Anonymous

This is amazing craftsmanship, keep doing what you do, Chris!

Richard Henderson

The satisfaction of seeing the final assembly cannot be understated. Can you offer a short description/link, which gives a bit more in-depth description of the eclipse prediction wheel settings and how to read them? I’m sorting through the previous episodes to piece it together but thought you might have it all down in one location. Thanks and happy holidays.

Anonymous

The engravings are so amazingly beautiful, I cannot stop watching the engraving part... Seeing it all coming together also is so safisfying to see after all this time

clickspring

Hi Richard, I have added a good collection of online eclipse info in the video notes - Cheers :)

clickspring

Thank you mate - the engraving turned out to be one of the best fun parts of the project - Cheers :)

Anonymous

Hey man I got to ask what is the status of the other project?

PeetieGonzalez

Why don't you put these out publicly, Chris? I feel privileged to get early access via Patreon, but I can't imagine a single one of us would mind if these were eventually released on broader YouTube terms. After all... they are family friendly, ad-friendly content, and I for one would love to be able to share them with a wider audience.

Ken Hilke

I was wondering where I could find the link to download the drawings for the Byzantine Sundial-Calendar, love your work thanks

clickspring

Hi Ken, each episode post has the plans for the components in that video as a link beneath the video, and there is a complete set of plans linked beneath Ep 10: https://www.patreon.com/posts/byzantine-part-26515532 - Cheers :)
