Staying Honest! (Patreon)

Hey there guys, I don't take sponsorships and I don't allow anyone to pay me to promote a product or service, I do get approached fairly often by people who want me to mention their "Training course" mention their "e-book" come and film their "kung fu class" or review their product etc etc, often they want to pay me or here in China "take me out for dinner" which is a very common way to get some leverage "guangxi/connections" over a person and make them feel obliged to do favours in return.

I take a different approach, if I think there's a service or a product etc that viewers may find useful and interesting (such as the whole basketball video or a useful product or service), I'll do a video for free, that way I don't feel obliged to give any sort of positive review / slant on what I'm talking about.

As a full time YouTuber now, it is difficult to resist a little extra income here and there, but I have principles to stick to, and your support makes it a no brainer. Basically I just wanted to Thank each and every one of you, my Patreons, no matter how big or small your donation, you have afforded me an opportunity to be exactly who I am without too much of a struggle, and both Sasha and I thank you all very much!

On a related note, it is actually becoming more and more difficult to film in public here in China, I was told to stop recording myself in my own apartment complex by security (I got it recorded on video and will include it soon), and in general there are some pretty nasty anti-foreigner hit pieces going around the local media, a particularly ugly one about some foreign guy sleeping with over 200 Chinese girls (which I am sure was scripted and faked) and they included pictures of me in the article lol), it's a bit hairy over here at the moment, but I am undeterred and am about to go and film inside of Chinese Supermarkets for you guys, from Posh to Rural... This should be fun!
