The Death of Uber in China

Uber walked into China with high hopes, and left with empty pockets. In this video, we discuss DiDi Dache's acquisition of Uber, and the explosion of Mobike and other ride sharing apps. China may not be at western level wealth, but it is at the forefront of large start ups and government projects.

The ride sharing looks very promising, if it is ubiquitous, I would use it for sure. I learned to drive and have been driving safely in USA for 20 years, but I do not dare to drive on Chinese street for one second. Really too much surprise and distraction, no body obey the rule and in addition to cars also need to pay attentions to bike and pedestrian. In Texas, you do not have to deal with anything than cars. But give up cars does come with down side, like walking long distance in city tires me out and this fit right in the place and give easy access to the city with comfort, convenience at the right cost, really brilliant. Just hope not too many people steal or damage the bikes to keep it profitable for long term survival of the business.

It has a follow mode, but most of the time I just keep the controller on the seat in front of me :)
