New Rules Forbid Foreigners From Taking USD Out of CHINA

When you get to China, how do you change over your money? As a foreigner, it isn't easy. There is a ton of paperwork involved, and is often easier to use a Chinese friend to help you with the process.

So Winston as a guy whose wife is from Shenzhen, and who myself is from the northeastern US all my life, please be really careful when driving a Corvette in the northeastern US (like PA, NJ and especially central NY) in potentially snowy conditions in December! Corvettes are awesome but they are notorious for being not the best cars in snow.

Thank you for the concern, I'll be taking extra care and getting some really expensive Michelin a/s tyres too. Thank you and hope to see you during the trip

My wife is Chinese and I am a Swede. Recently it was totally fine to make a bank transfer with IBAN + BIC/Swift codes from China to my bank. She is moving here and wants to bring her assets here. It is doable. There are questions asked if you transfer more the about 15000USD (translated from Swedish currency). So we did that and will continue until everything is over here. So I can't see why you need to go to HK? Why not transfer money to your wifes account who then can, as a Chinese citizen, transfer money abroad. Do not complicate things. :)

@Billy. I just said that we wired 15K out from China to Sweden without and problems what so ever. My wife wired to me. Bank to bank.
