China's MUSIC Scene

Metal, hip-hop, rock, pop. Is there a music scene in China? Kind of. When you come to China, don't expect a flourishing underground scene. With very few musical exports to the west, it is difficult to know what is popular here. K-Pop has become super popular in China, but where does that leave Chinese music?

This was a great video. I always wondered about the scene in China. I looked for a scene in Beijing and wasn't able to find it back in 09. Wish I could post a photo of the scenes I infiltrated in Seoul and Tokyo this May. Some cool punk rock bars and shows in Sinchon and Hongdae, Seoul. Found some great bands that sounds a bit like greenday. One was called novocaine. The singer was a total babe! Found three great alternative, punk and rock venues in shinjuku. One called anti-knock. Heard another great punk band called FunnyBurger. The thing that is great about these music scenes is that it brings all cultures together around a common bond! Met a lot of great people this way 😊🇰🇷🇯🇵
