So before anything else, please watch the following link:

https://youtu.be/jktGMuOAcTo

You will literally be the first people (other than of course myself, C-milk and those who filmed it) to see it and there's an interesting story behind this scene and why it didn't make it into the Conquering Northern China documentary, more on that in a minute but I thought I'd update you all on how Sasha is doing so far

Sasha is both adjusting well but also finding some aspects of life frustrating to adjust to here, I will let her tell you all about it herself this Friday in a special Patreon update, but I'm so pleased that she is enjoying the beautiful weather and environment here and she has been very adventurous in trying all the different kinds of foods on offer in the states, it has been quite a fun experience for the both of us.... Anyway on to the story of Panjin and why it didn't make it into the show.

For those of you who have seen the show you'll know that we made sure that we included drone shots of pretty much all of the interesting places we visited, these were all shot on a Phantom 4 Professional which is very different from the average consumer drone, it has a much larger sensor than the Phantom 4, Mavic pro or Mavic air and can shoot 4k 60fps but more importantly can shoot a cinematic 25fps at a much higher bitrate than most consumer drones. Of course there are more professional grade drones out there but this one is snugly slotted in the middle and the footage matched that of the very expensive cinema cameras we rented for the shooting of the documentary (canon C300 MK2).

The problem is that the day before arriving at Panjin, Mark our drone pilot had actually flown our expensive drone into a power line and completely totaled it, DJI only has repair and sales centres in the bigger cities in China and we were no where near anywhere that could help us, we actually ended up having to buy a completely new drone as later when we found a DJI repair centre in Shenyang, they didn't have the know how or spare parts to repair ours...

Enter Panjin! We arrived at this very pretty and unique wetland as you saw in the footage but because we no longer had use of our pro drone, we tried to use C-milk's mavic pro (we had taken it in case C-milk or myself wanted to get some drone footage for the Laowhy86 or SerpentZA channels), as you can see from the footage it worked out pretty well but not good enough for Rik who decided to cut the scene because it didn't live up to the quality of the rest of the documentary! Fair enough, the documentary really did come out well and I'm especially glad that I can finally share this scene with you.

BTW, this scene will be included in this upcoming Monday's ADVChina although we wrapped it in a bit of a fun ride down to the Mexican border!

Can't wait to see you all in the next video... and boy oh boy is it going to be a doozy!

- Stay Awesome!

1. This kind of "Zong Zi" 粽子,usually dip in salty stuff or sugar. 2. Important. the sticky rice (sweet rice) actually was used for stick bricks for masonry in China, of course it will mix with some other inorganic materials, in the old days there were no cement, some part of the great wall was built with this sticky rice, BTY. when you were biking in Taiwan, in the mountain side on the way to Sun-Moon Lake, there was a broken abandoned old bridge, people call it "sticky rice bridge"..
