So by now you know that my new documentary is finally out, for those of you who have already seen it I'm sure you could pick up on just how awkward I felt when I went to visit Gulu, the photographer in Beijing who has made a name for himself in the underground scenes taking nude and risque photos.

I honestly thought that it would be a case of us visiting him and talking to him about his work and maybe he'd show us some sort of gallery or something, but as soon as we entered his apartment he proceeded to instruct his two models (one of which is his girlfriend) to take off their clothes so that he could start taking photos, it was completely unscripted so my reaction is real! You can check it out in the documentary if you have yet to see it but at the end he asked me to sit down between the two and he took the following photo (I've had to censor it):

Needless to say I wasn't looking forward to Sasha finding out, but she watched the documentary last night and although understandably a bit jealous, she was fine with it as she knows it's part of the job and also that I love her more than anything.

In all honesty, out of all of the characters I met I thought I would like Gulu the least but actually ended up liking him the most, his outlook on life and the situation he faces is something that resonates with me and I personally found him to be the most interesting and genuine character out of the whole documentary.

I hope you've enjoyed it and if you haven't seen it already I hope you get around to it, I'll post the link here:

Probably the most pimp thing ever. Great show too, loved it.

I watched as you put yourself out on the edge several times during the documentary. You were vocal and visibly disturbed several times, but you mucked through each circumstance valiantly!!! Took some guts and you learned some things, I applaud you!
