Should You BUY A CAR in China?

Buying a car in China in China is tempting, but not the best idea. With the public transportation, and the nightmare traffic, it can be an insane idea. However, we have owned many vehicles in China, so we wanted to talk about the auto industry, and shed some light on what you need to look out for when thinking about buying a car in China. I've owned cars since I was sixteen. Born and raised in SOCAL was in the service for a good while, and have lived all over the US. I cannot imagine being without a car. I was stationed in Japan for a year while in the military, and had a car (Honda) and my only challenge was getting used to driving on the left side on the road, very interesting. If I had to be in China for a good length of time I would want a car even though I've been advised to learn the public transportation system, but I don't even do that here in the US.

What about car insurance, is there such a thing in China ? I would think that would be expensive there because of they lack of care the Chinese have for driving, what are your thoughts on that ??
