About safety in America: America can be extremely safe. I’ve studied crime (stats) informally; crime is largely the domain of minority neighborhoods in the USA with DOJ figures indicating US black neighborhoods having about 20X the violence of white neighborhoods. Various theories abound but the 1965 Moynihan Report predicted a crime wave due to the collapse of black fathered families that was happening at the time.

Charles Whitman(former Marine sniper) was similar to Vegas. Whitman had tumor causing his violence. Vegas shooter’s father was a bank robber. Would it be nice to have much more evaluation of gun owners, including brain scans and genetic testing?
