You should have spent a little while at the beach. It would have been funny to see you paddling in your suit with trousers rolled up, and bemused Chinese beachgoers around you. Or eating some Godforsaken bean curd and chicken feet ice cream.

I'd be willing to carry my papers if it meant a trip on an electric bus to a people's beach, but I have a flaw common to others who have worked for big government: I deeply enjoy asking "Papers, please," before allowing folks to proceed. I kinda miss being a low-level bureaucrat. On an unrelated note, my karma probably sucks ...
