Happy New Year! (Patreon)

Happy New Year, everyone!  Here comes my monthly blurb again.

In terms of my art resolutions, I think I'm doing pretty well!  I'm mixing up a bit of studies with doodles, and I've done a few fully done illustrations in the past few weeks.  I'm noticing a bit of improvement with things I've had trouble with (legs/feet and composition), so I'm excited to see how much more I improve in the future!

Next up is that one dating sim that I've been trying to start up for the past year!  I still have a good amount of commissions to complete, so I haven't had much time to work on this.  But, I am slowly working on it, and I hope to get at least a beta out in the next few months.  I don't think I've written a lot about it in the past, so here are some details:

General

• It's a dating sim set in a magical school
• It's an otome, so the main character is a girl and there are only bachelors
• There are 2 main routes (may possibly change to 3)
• It's very much like normal dating sims, where you plan out the activities for the week and raise stats
• For the weekends, you have the chance to hang out with some of the other characters to learn more about them
• Special scenes are triggered once certain qualifications are met (stats and relationship levels)
• It was initially planned to have battle sequences, but that has been scrapped due to the additional work needed
• It was initially planned to have cooking activities, but that has been scrapped since there wasn't much reason to have it

Characters

1. Marie
This is the main character, though her name can be changed.  She's charismatic and very curious, which may be annoying for some.  She's been dreaming of going to this school ever since she was a little girl, so she's very star-struck once she's there.

2. Antoine
This is one of the bachelors!  He's a real friendly fella and can almost always be seen socializing.  He was an orphan and was taken under the care of the school.

3. Coren
Another one of the bachelors!  He's very stand-offish towards strangers and acquaintances and doesn't speak much in general.  He's usually seen studying in the library or out bonding with his falcon.

4. Tama
The last of the bachelors, and wasn't initially planned.  He's scatterbrained and often loses his train of thought.  But, he's kind and soft-spoken around everybody.

5. Victoria
This is one of Marie's close friends from her previous school.  She's very rowdy, excitable, and very popular among her classmates.  Surprisingly, she's good friends with Coren, who often seems bothered by her presence.

You can find the old demo right over here, along with a few screenshots!  I'm planning on changing everything though, so it'll look pretty different in the future.

And that's all I think I have to say for now!  I've already got most of the story and scenes set, so the next things I need to do are:  write the first drafts, reprogram the dating sim mechanics, and sketch out the sprites!
