Focusing on Environments (Patreon)
Content
I've been a full-time freelancer for about a month now. This past month has been a little hectic, but I'm really surprised at the amount of cheer and support from Patreon, Twitter, etc. I'm quite bad at putting my feelings into words, but I am honestly really happy. Thank you.
Onto other things... I just recently bought a webcam (hooray), so I'll force myself to stream more than usual. Once I get a hang of it, I'll make a streaming schedule and announce it here!
Lately, I've been thinking about creating visual novels. I mean, I've been trying to for the past few years, but commissions and work got in the way. Art and programming are easy for me, but writing is the hardest part! Writing is so difficult for me, but I need to keep at it. Of course, there's the music too, but I'd outsource it since I definitely cannot make music myself. So, I'll also be making my own visual novel when I have free time. I'll post updates occasionally on here.
For June, I'd like to focus on environments. I've spent enough time studying anatomy, but I really lack the knowledge and skill in creating good backgrounds! Backgrounds are a very vital part of a piece that most people (including myself) dislike drawing. For me, it's mainly because it takes forever to draw!
There are a lot of details that go into a background, and it takes a lot of research to get to a point where you could come up with most of the things to draw in. For a rather simplified example, drawing a field with patches of flowers, mushrooms, tree branches, and fallen leaves! Before, when I drew a field, it'd look vast and empty--because it was! It would be a large plain green field with some grass and flowers. Small details are very important, because they make the whole piece feel more real. It's very much like drawing people, but it takes time to learn what makes something look like what it should be.
I've been trying to draw backgrounds, but they're still pretty bad. So, for this month, you should see a lot more organic and man-made landscape studies! Though, I'll still be drawing plenty of characters.
Lastly, a few things for my Patreon! I updated the Eabot/Ropot rewards:
monthly request reward has clarification on what I would draw, so it should be clearer than before! Also, if you haven't already, please send me a PM of your birthday (if you wanna)!
Anyhow, that's it. Really, thank you all for the support. :)
