Heyo! Sorry for being a little late on this report, I've been getting my hands on a bunch of stuff lately so have been spending some time tinkering with them and doing streams and whatnot. But there's been some stuff going on over on YouTube, including not one but two streams which I'll talk a little about in a bit! But here's a roundup of all the updates from this month:

Tumblring down tumblring down tumblring down

With recent shenanigans happening over at Twitter, while I'll still be on that platform unless it literally dies, I've begun also posting most of my creative content there on Tumblr as a second hosting place! Since I've started posting there I've already passed 500 followers, so it's going well! There are people on there that haven't been following me on Twitter or have an account there, so it's neat to be able to share my past works with a new audience as well! If you haven't done so, go check it out! There might be long form blog posts there too in the future if I ever feel like writing stuff.

Main channel stuff!

First of all, the Famicom Disk System Cleaning Extravaganza is here! It's kinda funny how similar to the video about the HyperFlash32 flashcart, the first half of the video is about the actual hardware and the second half suddenly becomes all about something else, but for the people watching who aren't super familiar with the FDS anyway, this was hopefully an interesting glimpse at the bootleg scene for it as well! Though there weren't any actual FDS bootleg games on display, perhaps that could be the theme for a future video...

A quick addendum to the video for those who haven't seen it though: turns out the purple disk is actually a standard Mitsumi Quick Disk, the floppy disk storage format that the FDS was based on! It has a detachable bit on the bottom that allows it to fit into an FDS drive and function as an FDS disk. I've heard of these before, but didn't know that's exactly what one of the disks I bought was, so that's very cool!

Aside from that, there's also this quick video that came out all about the NES, Famicom and FDS. Which...is honestly pretty self-explanatory. It'd be kinda fun to do more super short videos just explaining retro gaming related topics lol

I was also given two opportunities to stream on my channel this month, from the premiere of the second trailer to the Mario movie (which got my stream temporarily taken down twice lol) to an early copy stream of JellyCar Worlds, a series that's a super old staple on the channel! Thank you to those who tuned in!

Plus channel videos

This month on the Plus channel, I turned a 3-second gag in a video into a proper experiment to see if a Famicom disk can actually survive being thrown into water! Hope you guys enjoyed this science experiment. I wish I could've done another Plus channel topic for the month, but I just had my hands full tinkering with stuff. Speaking of which...

If you've seen my video on the Nintendo Power SF Memory Cartridge, the Sanni open source cart reader that I mentioned in that video has finally arrived, so I've been messing with it the past few days, including finally having the ability to rewrite the Nintendo Power cart! As I said, this could be a potential Plus channel video in the future, but I'm thinking there could also be a main channel video made about this as an addendum to my previous video there about dumping cartridges. Perhaps both will get made! We'll see, I spent a bit on this cart reader so I'm definitely gonna try getting the most out of it.

End-of-year video

With that out of the way, the one thing left to do for the year is the end-of-year game review video that I mentioned in the last post! I'm still writing the script for it right now which is sitting at around 3800 words currently, and I've only written thoughts for 23 out of the 37 games so far, so hoo boy.

I'll save my 2023 outlook for the year in review post, but after this video is done, I'll be continuing work on the Patreon revamp that I mentioned in the last report, then continuing on with the scripts I had in limbo!

So that'll be it for this report! Here's an early Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of you!
