Exploring the Starter Edition 3DS (+the October 2021 report) (Patreon)

Heyo! It's been a little bit, but here's a new unscripted video about an interesting 3DS variant that I've talked about before -- the Hong Kong and Taiwan-exclusive Starter Edition 3DS!

And with that, you might've noticed some branding changes.

That's right...my second channel is now named Akfamilyhome Plus! Yes, it's a shameless ripoff of every subscription service with a 'Plus' in the name. But I figured this name *is* actually a better representation of the content I make here than 'Akfamilyhome2'. In addition, from now on, the majority of these unscripted videos will be exclusively available to ALL patrons. Not just early access -- these videos will at the very least be Patreon-exclusive for a long time. I hope to build up a nice catalogue of interesting topics that can fit the unscripted format better (for real, there ARE topics out there that are less suitable to do a whole core video or TOI episode on), as well as provide a bit more value on here as thanks!

All of the previous unscripted videos will still be available to the public, and there will still be new public content uploaded to Akfamilyhome Plus on occasion, such as WarioWare D.I.Y. covers. So I hope you can look forward to both that and new unscripted content!

I uploaded a WarioWare D.I.Y. microgame compilation to my main channel last month, which is the first time in a while that I've done something like this, but after seeing the reception to it on Twitter I figured I'd put this video on main and it was pretty well-received! This reminds me that I'd love to talk in-depth about WarioWare D.I.Y. in a video sometime, but that's gonna have to go into the big bin of video ideas I have.

Aside from this, I have been chipping away at revising some dormant scripts while I'm not occupied with job-hunting*! We're approaching one year since the R.O.B. the Robot core video, and while I apologize for that a little (there were at least some other videos made this year after all!), I figured I might as well use this "hiatus" to perhaps renovate the channel a little and spice things up. Rebranding the second channel is part of the plan, and there will be some other miscellaneous changes happening in the future!

And also I'm testing public art commissions. If you're in my Discord server, you probably know the deets. Head onto the #commission-requests channel to learn more about that if you're interested! I'll also be opening the test to Twitter in the future for those who are not in the server!

*for those expressing concern, thank you. It's been a little bumpy for me at the moment but I still hope things get better :)
