This just got WAY darker!! Love that we're actually seeing what Crosshair is up to and it does seem like he's retained some individuality since the chip, but WOW the Bad Batch's ship is a state!

Yep Crosshair's story in this is quite tragic and dark, got a bit of funny history related to that 😂 Back when Bad Batch Arc aired on Clone wars they of course announced at the same time they'd be getting their own show coming the following year and everyone loved them already in their single Arc so of course their fanbase grew rapidly leading up to a whole show about them with things like Fan pages and twitter accounts etc you know how fandoms work haha, especially Crosshair who had a lot of Simp-Uh.. I mean "Dedicated Super Fans" 🤣🤣 who were excited to see him and his dynamic with the Bad Batch return. Of course his Story has gone in a different direction so you can imagine how upset and vocal all those fans were, I felt bad for them but at the same time it was kinda funny to see their reactions lol Also just checked YouTube comments on your 1st BB episode out of curiosity and yep it's as I feared quite a few spoiler comments planted in there 😅😅 definitely be careful reading those it's like walking on a minefield

Crosshair’s story is so compelling at the minute and the reactions to his separation from the group must have been so funny 😂 It seems pretty obvious from the start that if anyone was going to be the antagonist, it’d be him. Thanks for the heads up, I really don’t want to stop answering comments over there but if this keeps up I might have to consider it. Haven’t read them yet so still thinking about how I’ll go about it, if I see anything spoiler-y or see a bunch of people yelling at someone in the replies I might just remove the comment and hope I either don’t understand it or forget it.

Hi Man

This is definitely one of my favourite episodes of season one. I mean anything with Crosshair in this show is absolutely perfect but the whole eerie and tense feeling you get throughout this episode whenever Crosshair comes up is so good. Also Crosshair's theme is so dark and badass it really fits him well. He is basically a Terminator and is so ruthless. I mean even without the chip activating he was a bit tense but now he is just a killing machine. And to answer your question, no by the time of New Hope all the clones have been phased out. And the Stormtroopers are just reguler people recruited from all over the galaxy. And if you really think about it. Tarkin and Rampart are kinda right in their desire to phase out the clones. They are extremely skilled soldiers yes but they are expensive and takes a few years for the Kaminoans to grow new clones. And probably the biggest factor is that the clones were good specifically for the Clone Wars. Their skill in warfare was needed in war time but now the war is over. And the Empire now needs to focus on actually keeping the population in check and ensuring that another civil war dosen't happen. But you can't basically occupy the whole galaxy with clones. There are literally not enough of them. But with recruited soldiers they can field millions more soldiers to properly garrison and occupy all their territories and to keep the more rebellious population in check. So their strategy of pumping out as many soldiers as possible was very effective. And with their new found numbers they were able to project their strength and numbers to every corner of the galaxy and intimidate anyone with their numbers. But of course this only worked in the short run until the Rebellion happened and the Empire underestimated the sheer scale of the uprising. And the galaxy was plunged into another war but now they had no professional soldiers to fight it more effectively. So yeah in the short term, the Empire had the right idea but thanks to their arrogance failed to introduce a plan B in case of a major rebellion. In those fifteen years of relative peace they could have started trainging a new elite fighting force with numbers sufficent enough to assist the Stormtroopers in the event of a war. This whole topic is so interesting and that's probably why this era of transition from Republic to Empire is one of my favourites in Star Wars and I'm so glad this show exists to actually highlight these things.

Crosshair carried this episode honestly, seeing this darkness was a perfect way to show what the chip is capable of and how it basically strips clones of their humanity. The fact that Tarkin is right about the clones needing to be replaced due to expense just makes me hate him more 😂 I just hate that all the things he does are backed up by a reasonable reason, it’s not some deluded fantasy that’s driving him he’s just thinking realistically. Love that another reason for the downfall of the Empire was its own ego and underestimating the Rebellion, it’s much like the Republic and the Jedi order thinking they were untouchable so it’s cool to see Palpatine repeating at least some of their mistakes. I completely agree, seeing the transition of power is one of the reasons I wanted to watch it chronologically as I can get to see how the Empire developed from start to finish and we’re already getting an amazing look at that in only one show.
