DARTH MAUL IS BACK!! Honestly not what I was expecting but very happy to be getting more on him! Very cool to see how this dude survived for so long and the team-up in this was just awesome!!

Yeah you've got the right idea of the Sith Powers, there's a quote I like to use from a character in the Mass Effect series "Rage is a hell of an Anaesthetic" being cut in half would've forced him to draw on that pain and hatred simply to not die and years of that would've made him insane, a lot of what he was reciting was Sith Codes and Philosophies to help him Focus I guess. Anakin did something similar when he was being burnt alive and lived through that pain by his pure "I HATE YOU" for Kenobi, of course he was found and fixed rather quickly which is why he wasn't turned crazy. Of course there is still an extent of what wound you can live through and limits, like cut in the neck would be instant death, Lower half of body being cut is still really stretching it but not impossible at least for Maul. It's believed the Hole Maul fell down was some sort of garbage chute so his body ended up in the garbage and dumped on the Garbage planet.

I think Obi-Wan was just pretending when he was getting beaten up by the Zygerrian slaver guy right? He was just distracting him until Anakin and Ahsoka defused all the bombs. But you're right I think they could have done more with Maul and Obi-Wan.

That quote is so perfect to describe what's happened here, just thinking about everything this guy had to go through to survive it's not surprising anymore that he completely lost it. The Sith Codes were such a cool detail to add cause we never really get to see how a master taught their apprentice so it's cool that Sith have these texts much like Jedi. Only just realised how similar Maul and Anakin are here, the fact that they both nearly died and had to draw on the Dark Side to survive is such an interesting parallel. Glad to hear there are limits to this though and this power would be way too unstoppable otherwise so that definitely helps to keep it real as I can't imagine a decapitated Sith or something staying alive by being angry 😂. Ooohhh that makes so much sense!! Wish they actually said what that chute was as this explanation is just perfect and would explain why no one went looking for his body since the garbage system took care of it for them.

True he was pretending to be beaten up but it still looked visually similar to what Maul was doing to him, and if he managed to width stand that I'm suprised that this managed to tire him out relatively easily.
