So nice to get an episode that's actually taking place on the Batch's main planet, getting a deeper dive into the Crime world was absolutely amazing and the lack of Jedi and Sith definitely made certain people feel way more powerful!

Poor Pykes seem to have a habit of losing their spice 😂😂 *cough*Trace*cough* 🤣 When it comes to Devaronians (Roland's species) their horns are a great source of pride in their culture, getting one cut off is like a very dishonorable, humiliating and shameful thing, I imagine their people probably even have their own Slur for a Dev with a sliced off horn, though some individual Devs probably don't care too much because they're not all the same like Cid not being a traditional Trandoshan, like Im guessing Roland being a wannabe crime lord isn't as upset about it as others of his kind might be which is why he said "it's a small price" but was still humiliating for him. When you see a Devaronian with a sliced horn it can be a form of sentencing in their society and you probably shouldn't trust them, they've been disgraced, it's almost similar to having a criminal act on your record. Or they could've screwed someone over in the past, I imagine crime syndicates like the Pykes do that as it lets the syndicate know not to do business with that individual, and who knows maybe there's some sick Black Market value in Dev Horns.

Hi Man

The Pykes are awesome, they have always been my favourite crime syndicate so I'm really glad they presented them as menacing and intimidating here. They are really a force to reckoned with. The Durand crime syndicate is also really cool. They are actually a brand new crime family in this timeline. Isa Durand founded the syndicate just around order 66. She took advantage of the rapidly changing galaxy and while the Empire is currently focusing it's efforts on maintaining and establishing control over their new empire, she took the opportunity of founding a new major crime family while the empire was preoccupied and distracted. Also the Jedi actually established a temple on the home planet of their species, Devaron. And also a military base. And we have actually seen it very briefly in the Clone Wars. The clone outpost on Devaron and the Jedi Temple was destroyed by Savage Opress. It was the first assigment Dooku sent Savage on. And we saw him absolutely destroy the clones and that one Jedi master and his apprentice. What's even more awesome is that Luke after a New Hope actually went to the destroyed Jedi Temple on Devaron to continue his Jedi training there, which is why he was a lot more skilled in Empire strike back (he also trained in other places but he specifically trained to deflect blaster bolts there using training droids). The fact that Luke went to the same temple Savage destroyed is crazy to think about. When we think of these characters, they are so distant and practically decades apart. But at the same time when Luke explores that temple we feel a certain familiarity and that just goes to show how well this universe is connected. And it's just so cool to think that Savage and Luke were at one point walking down the same path into this Jedi temple. Although Savage had slightly different reasons. 🤣

True 😂😂 Pykes really can’t catch a break! Wish this amount of detail was in the episode as it makes the horn thing so much more meaningful, just thought it would serve as a reminder of Roland’s failure but it’s so much more, honestly, I’ll be on the lookout for others of his species now knowing how important the state of their horns are.

The lack of Jedi and Sith has really helped to scale the power here and it’s made the Pykes look amazing, love how menacing they come off and how cold-blooded they are. I’m so interested in this Isa Durand now, knowing she’s brand new and actually established her syndicate around order 66 is so fascinating, it’s similar to Fennec where these two people have grown so fast and have become really significant and I just want to get to see how they managed to do it. Also really love the detail in connection here and having these guys have that history in the Clone Wars. That’s so cool that Luke went to the same place for his training!! Wish we got to see that as these details are so amazing at making an entire galaxy feel so connected, can’t wait to see more of this stuff as we get further into the Empire as at some point we’re gonna have to get closer to Luke time and I can’t wait to see where stuff crosses over 😁
