A bit of news (08.07.2022) - Vacations and Welldark (Patreon)
Content
It is not often that one can feel joy at the prospect of repeating themselves. However, with the steady influx of readers every year, it would be amiss of me not to announce this once again. Plus, I need to add some extra context this time around.
My birthday is the second of August. This is purely relevant because I traditionally take both it and the day after off, to wait out the hangover that inevitably occurs. However, this year, I will be taking the entire weak around that date off. That would be the 1st to 7th of August. This will not affect the Drip-Fed release of that week.
Now, the obvious question is: why the extra vacation days?
To give a long-winded answer: over the past two-and-a-half weeks of my arc break, I about 35'000 words of progress on Welldark. This brought me all the way from Chapter 3 to the start of Chapter 6. That means I'm about 2/5ths done with the first draft now. While Welldark is not my most succesful project in terms of views (yet), I do heavily enjoy writing it and I don't want the break to become too large.
So I decided to give me a vacation, during which I can concentrate on some more Welldark... when I'm not sobering up, anyway.
With all that being said, I would not expect Welldark Volume 2 to get done this year. As said, I'm less than halfway through the first draft, and then I still have to do the two rounds of editing to assure the quality of the first book measures up to that of the first. Also to try and catch any pesk continuity errors and such.
As for other vacations this year: I doubt there'll be another arc break. Because Maid in Heaven is, much like Flow Riding, supposed to be a slice of life focused arc that covers everything in John's life and adds a few new things, I fully expect it to stretch for several months, even past New Years.
That means my only other vacation, after my birthday, will be the Christmas Holidays. I will probably extend that one too (Usually I take the 24-26th of and then New Years) to go from the 24th to New Years, to make it a full week too.
Alright, that's my updates.
