Here is my full length unedited reaction for One Piece! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. But it always starts at 00:00:00. Must have your own copy to watch along with, since I can't offer that due to copyright laws. Streamer: Netflix

Honestly, Merry surviving in the anime never sat well with me. For someone so hellbent on ensuring there were NO witnesses to his return, to the point of happily slaughtering his own crew, it seems more than a little out-of-character for Kuro to not make sure Merry was dead. And sure enough, he wakes up and tells Kaya everything. If Kaya had chosen to do anything other than run off to confront him, that little blunder could've ruined Kuro's whole plan entirely by his own doing. So I actually consider that a small hit against the story that I'm kinda glad the LA fixed. RIP Merry. Small rant aside, this was a really solid conclusion to an arc that may have dragged a bit, but still had a lot of heart. Very excited for the Baratie! :)

One thing I miss about early One Piece, is Luffy's close relationship with Ussop, because they are kinda cut from the same cloth. I mean, it's not like they aren't friends or anything, but, slight spoiler, later in the story Ussop forms a close friendship with another crewmate they pick up in the Grand Line and those two become a recurring duo for the rest of the series.
