Here is my full length unedited reaction for Steven Universe! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. The video for the show is blurred and muted because of copyright, and I’m not trying to get in trouble. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. But it always starts at 00:00:00. Must have your own copy to watch along with, since I can't offer that due to copyright laws. Streamer: Max

There are some really neat references to Season 1 in this episode... The Program that Greg was watching on Vidalia's house right before he spilled the cereal was "Li'l Buttler" which is the Sitcom that him and Amethyst ended up obssesed with and used to try to cope with Rose's death (Ep "Maximum Capacity") The song that Greg sang at the end of the flashback "Let me Drive my Van into your Wash" is a parody/reference to the song called "Let Drive my Van into your Heart" which you heard back in the second episode of the show (Ep "Laser Light Cannon"). And yes... like others here have said... Steven Universe has 5 seasons, after them comes The Movie... and after it comes an "Epilogue Limited Series" as Rebecca Sugar herself called it.

While I'm sure the full idea took a while to germinate, I find this episode very interesting because it seems to be the initiating spark for Rose (eventually) deciding to have a child of her own. But then like... her speech to Greg about how she thinks Gems (emerging with a set, permanent purpose) and humans (literally built to change and grow over time) differ kinda makes me sad, because it's very clear to us the viewers by now that our Crystal Gems have evolved as characters in HUGE ways. Gems CAN and DO become more than their intended purpose... Garnet shows this every day she exists as herself at all, and Pearl by stepping out of the rigid mold of Homeworld servitude, as a few examples. From what Rose says here though, it seems she can't fully see this truth for herself yet. Oof. Also lol she's such a doofus sometimes. I agree with you, she would've been a very fun mom to Steven, I think. It's always nice to get lil mini peaks at who she was as a person through flashback eps like this. Deep baby voice Sour Cream is such a god tier joke, makes me laugh every time XD
