Here is my full length unedited reaction for One Piece! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. But it always starts at 00:00:00. Must have your own copy to watch along with, since I can't offer that due to copyright laws. Streamer: Netflix

Choppers backstory is so well done. It really drives home the point of him being an outcast and how calling him your friend is such a big deal for him. And you are right, Oda is a master when it comes to back stories and making you understand character motivations and back stories. He sets the bar really high with Nami's back story and continues to deliver as the series progresses. Side note: For the majority of the series if you don't see a recap of some sort it usually means they need that whole run time and you can expect a hype episode.

As a big animal lover, Chopper's story always reminded me (perhaps by design) of all those stories of people adopting abused animals and trying to rebuild trust with them. You'd think Chopper being a sapient animal would make that easier to swallow but GOOD GOD does it not. I admit, extenuating circumstances aside, I also have a little trouble forgiving Hiruluk for outright shooting at him, knowing that's likely a huge phobia for the guy. Poor thing. :(
