Here is my full length unedited reaction for Steven Universe! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. But it always starts at 00:00:00. Must have your own copy to watch along with, since I can't offer that due to copyright laws. Streamer: Max

No reactor can resist Peridot, in the end XD You are very, very much not alone in the experience of Peri sneaking up as a favorite character. I think that just... really speaks to how incredible her character development is across the last arc or so of the show- the beats of her "redemption" makes the audience super endeared to her very quickly, because we all WANT to see her let loose and find her happiness and freedom from Homeworld's stringent rules. We WANT to see her learn to understand the Crystal Gems' way of living. And now look at how that's manifested here- away from the restrictive pressures of Gem society, she's discovered that she DOES have a special ability! It may not be shapeshifting like she wanted, but like... it really does go to show how much untapped potential a Gem may have brewing within them, if they were allowed to simply be themself. Added note: At the very beginning of the episode, Steven said his dad bought the tablet, but just decided he wasn't likely to use it. You can take this comment to assume that Greg definitely still has a lot of money, and did not spend it all during the last episode. (Which... would honestly be a lot harder than one thinks, IMO. I don't think a single night in a penthouse suite, new suits, various food, and the services of all the singing hotel staff costs 10 million dollars, ahah. A chunky few thousand? Sure. But not 10 mill ahah.)

To answer your question... Yes, Mr. Smiley had already banned Steven from Funland, this happened in Season 1 although i don't remember which episode.

It was "Serious Steven", when he wrecked the tea cup ride in the flashback. At first I thought this was either a very short lifetime ban or a continuity error, because "Arcade Mania" is just three episodes later, but I checked and Mr Smiley said he was "banned from all the rides! Forever!" so I guess the arcade was still fair game. I'm a little surprised (but only a little) that we didn't get a scene where Mr Smiley lifted the ban somewhere with the attention this show pays to little details (like when Steven was grounded from TV in "Fusion Cuisine" and eventually ungrounded many episodes later in "Joy Ride").
