Here is my full length unedited reaction for Steven Universe! This only includes my reaction and thoughts. There is no intro. I always start my recordings at 00:00:00 of the show to make timecode syncing much easier and the timecode is included. I watch through any recaps (if any) and intros. I think your comment in this ep of "Steven with the ulterior motives" is spot on, ahahah- cause like, at the very beginning, you see him take note of Pearl and his dad's lingering rift. Pearl gets visibly upset at the reminder of Rose's affections for Greg and leaves, and then Steven gives a little frown as he watches her walk off. Then when he invites Pearl along on his trip with his dad, he overtly rubs salt into the wound by vocally reminding them about Rose with his awkward "and don't forget about Mooom~!" line. I think this was an incredibly strategic decision (albeit maybe a bit emotionally... hmm. like the equivalent of throwing a bowling ball through a glass window), always intended to drag those emotions up to the surface in the hopes that spending more time together on this trip might get them to talk and work things out. Steven out here playing next-level 6D chess with his guardians, lmao. Who's the parental figure NOW? Such a banger of an episode. (Also, yes, echoing Duck- let's please continue to be very careful about expectation spoilers as a Patreon community! There's a lot I always wish I could say about future events with the context of past eps in mind, but the cleanest and safest way to avoid accidentally popping spoilers in these comments is to simply keep one's commentary locked in to only the events of the episode in question, IMO. We can always give these fun sorts of hindsight blurbs when he reaches the future story in question.)
