Personally speaking, yes there is a point in series or movies where I just won't want to watch it anymore even if that means missing what could potentially be the conclusion. It also depends on the storytelling style but, if you give me a clear goal or endpoint in the beginning of a series and then never reach it I will eventually stop watching. I would say three story arcs are usually good. For movies it's definitely three after that I'm good. I do enjoy revisiting world and seeing either news stories that are taking place or following different characters even if the original characters show up either later in their lives that can actually be interesting. However, at this point Disney buys it up or brings it beyond three story arcs I'm done with the franchise because, they will milk that for another two decades.
