Apple is Messing with Patreon *Read plz (Patreon)

Since Apple is throwing their weight around and essentially demanding that Patreon implements their 30% purchase fee, Patreon has to comply or may have their App removed from the store.

This does NOT AFFECT current subscribers, but will affect NEW subscribers after November, meaning the base sub price will increase for new folks on iPhones.

So essentially, back whoever you can outside of the Patreon Apple app, after November.

It's cheaper for you and the content creator doesn't have to raise their prices.

How?

If you're using an Android phone, you're fine. (At least for now until Google decides to implement the same policy)

If you are using an iPhone, just use ANY browser, other than the app, on your phone and support through the Patreon website directly. The 30% fee won't be applied and the creators you support get their full share, and don't have to raise their prices just to survive.

On a computer through the website. Easy enough :)

So taking any one of these steps will help the content creators you support greatly.

Apple has enough money.

Thanks for supporting and doing the minor work around to keep that support going to the artists and not some app store front.
