This is my new favorite song at the moment. I heard it last night and saved it for a request, but then this morning found you already had it! Such a beautiful song, especially on the baritone. So far I'm doing pretty good with section A but I was wondering if you had any advice on playing the part in bar 5 where you have the 11 on the top string with an open 2nd string. The volume of the open string absolutely dominates that 11th fret. I'm trying to use different pressure on each string, to hit the 11th harder than the open but it's tricky. Am I on the right track with that and I just need more practice?

Possibly nails are different length? that open note is actually 9th fret on 4th string but I played it open because back then my intonation was all over the place (you can hear the ukulele struggling, this was before the Honolua). You are on the right track but it requires a specific technique to get one string to be louder than other, basically the string you want louder has to push down further than the other strings with the right hand, this way, when you release the strings, the one pushed down would be loudest Its hard to describe I'd have to show it in a lesson!! But for now, try the nail lengths, and see if you can adjust the volume with different pressures

Thank you! Using the 9th fret 4th string actually works out really well for me. I also found that it could just be a cheap ukulele or strings maybe? I tried it on a higher quality one and I can hear the 11th fret a lot clearer. I fully intend on buying a few private lessons as well! I just wanted to have a short list of questions that I can't figure out on my own before I waste your time going into it and not knowing what to work on. So far I've been progressing pretty well but I'll add this technique to the list! Thanks again!

of course the instrument makes a difference. But its once you tackle those nuances that you start to appreciate a $50 instrument vs $3000. My Ken Salomons can handle everything REALLY well, the Honolua does too but not to the same extent. The Denver (the one in Lagrima video) is just firewood at this point
