Kaseyama Chapter 4 (Patreon)

I had the idea for this chapter when the series started. For those who very likely don't know, "The Face of Evil" was a minor character from a webcomic I made a couple years ago called "Legend of the Three Densetsus" and said character resembled Sugar as a joke, though I thought it would be funny if they appeared again at some point in another project that wasn’t related to the Cookie series in any direct way, and the chapter pretty much stemmed from there.

While this chapter was basically built on a visual gag, there is still some vital character development for Kumo in here, you'll probably be able to tell what it is.

As of this chapter, Kaseyama has hit the 50 page mark, which feels so weird to me. I guess I thought it would take longer to reach that point since it took both Cookie and Kitsune & Buni about 1 1/2 years, though I guess they were made with the intention of being turned into books whereas Kaseyama is just a "for fun" project at the end of the day.

This chapter is also the halfway mark of the story, only 5 chapters left to go. I know I said during the first chapter that this was gonna be 14 chapters long or so, but I cut it down to 9 for a few reasons, those being:

1. The direction of the story changed between the hiatus of chapters 2 and 3 and the cut chapters conflicted with the new direction.

2. Cutting it down from 14 to 9 reduces the "fat" so to speak and ensures that the series doesn’t potentially overstay its welcome.

3. All those extra chapters could potentially put other things on hold, like K&B for example, since working on multiple things at the same time just slows progress down for everything.

Sorry if you were potentially looking forward to a longer story, but I don't think i'll be done with kaseyama after this series wraps up. Not sure what exactly i'll do with him in the future but I do have a few ideas.
