Hey, patrons! This is Danny's editor. Euphoria's Special Episode 2 was accidentally posted early on Youtube, it was supposed to come out this Sunday. Since this episode should be up here in just a few hours, I went ahead and made it public right now. Sorry for the inconvenience guys, enjoy the episode!

This has literally turned into the crying hour with 7 deadly sins and I’ll never miss an episode 🥲

I barely remember this episode for some reason so I’m excited to watch. I just remember the beginning and the therapy and I can see from the comments it’s about to be cry time.

I love what you said about Jules battling somewhat of an addiction herself. I've heard a lot of people say she has a sex addiction, but I think it's more of a 'validation' addiction, particularly from men. Everyone growing up sees the rules of society and bases what they "want" or do surrounding the expectation the world sets up for them. And for someone like Jules, the idea of seeking men's validation to feel "girl" enough makes so much sense. I also think something people don't talk about enough is Jules' own mental health issues. It's hard for anyone to be pressured to an extent to be the "person holding someone else together", but Jules also has a long history of self-harm, at least one suicide attempt we know of, destructive behavior, purposely putting herself in harmful situations, and purposefully engaging in risky behavior. The toll that someone's else well-being is also being put on top of you, I couldn't even imagine how that could affect your already self-destructive image of yourself. Even just being a support system for someone else struggling, which other people may be able to do, may just not be something she can do while struggling so much herself. The part with her mom is so heartbreaking, because like you said, there are so many sides to it. I feel so much for the mother, who seems to be genuinely trying, and so much for Jules, who isn't ready to talk to her mother. We have to remember that her mother was the one to bring her to the psych ward and who left the family after Jules came back home from it. It was a traumatizing event for Jules and something that is still deeply affecting her to this moment. When I see a situation like this, I makes me hope that hey both will be able to separately heal and come together one day to hear each other's story. Like they say, nothing heals better than time.

I must have heard that wrong when I first heard it. I thought these episodes (specials) were suppose to be background stories. I watch a little more ahead than folks know, in order to avoid all the possible spoilers. But it made for a much more raw reaction so I’m happy. Looking forward to season 2 release for sure!

It rings true for sure. The behavior behind it is so similar but definitely not a subject matter I’m familiar with. These were things I knew I would run into too. Multiple stories lines and all of them different. But they all seem to share a similarity with addictive behaviors. It’s kind crazy. Jules is wise to it though. Her saying that femininity conquered her is a heck of an insight. It’s a thinker 😂 because for me, femininity doesn’t really have that kind of definition. I feel it’s just one perspective and she TOTALLY conquered it, but we as a society have only explored man made versions of what femininity is. I don’t think women have truly had the chance to really explore what this word means to them, as individuals, until very recently. Jules I think is realizing this but I hope she doesn’t think that’s all a woman is. And please let me know if this is way off 😂 expressing things like this is a little scary. I was raised by women my entire childhood and am going off a lot from what I learned by them, including my mom. But I am a man and in know way could I ever fully understand what it’s like to be a woman. I only have my bits and pieces I think can help relate a little, that’s all. Which means everything I just said could totally be wrong 😂

And her mother omg… I was feeling it from either side of that one but the mom was the hardest. Mostly because of my mom and how she had to of felt after literally hearing similar things from my grandma after she was attempting to get sober. It was awful, but understandable at the same time.

Thank you for being so real! I appreciate your reactions and long (you could talk for hours, would still watch and listen) talks so much, it gives me a lot of knowledge and makes me feel less alone with some things. You seem like a wonderful person. Lookin forward to season 2 Euphoria, its gonna be wild

7deadlybananas

That’s what I’ve been hearing 😂 thank you so much for joining me for the episodes! And letting me know my long talks are ok 😂

Such a great and important episode. It really explains so much of Jules’ character and some of the thought processes behind the decisions she makes throughout the series. I noticed this after watching season 1 again, and I’m not sure if you picked this up (because I didn’t the first time watching), but Jules’ house is always kind of dark. Like there are literally no lights switched on. We get to see it with natural lighting when she’s with her dad, but especially when she’s with Rue there really isn’t a lot of light in there at all. It just makes me wonder if this was done to show that we really don’t know anything about Jules. Like yeah, we got to see some of her background when it showed she was sent to the psych ward, but if you really think about it, it was only a super brief insight to her life. We don’t know why she only lives with her dad or what the situation with her mum is. It isn’t until this episode that we really get to know her as a person, because (since Rue is the narrator of season 1) we only really get to see her as a person in Rue’s life that has a mostly positive impact on her. I think that’s why the darkness in Jules’ house is really emphasised when it’s just Rue and Jules together in there in comparison to her Dad who obviously knows her more.

Your talking about how people who decide to get sober (or even if not by their own decision) that it very rarely is successful the first time. That got me because it's something I've been struggling with is well. Not necessarily just in relation to my alcoholism but any change in my life I've tried to make. Some I've stuck with and never faltered, but others I haven't. It's very easy to get down on yourself about it, punish yourself, even decide to just give up. Especially when you've worked so, so hard to fix things. Investing, time, energy, money, even help from others. I am trying not to beat myself up so much over setbacks, because life happens and I can't expect things to just be smooth sailing as soon as things seem to be going really well. Even if I've had to start over twice, ten times, twenty times. The most important thing is to keep going.

7deadlybananas

Expectations can be a real B. 😂 Something can always throw a curveball and I know I’m usually the one hardest on myself. And starting over is the very definition of not giving up. There’s hope in that.
