OKAY, so Yuzuha was the one caring for Hakkai this entire time and taking the beatings. ugh. I got a little triggered during this episode as my childhood seemed to resemble Yuzuha's a lot and it was just kind of hard to watch that come to life in front of me. I can't help but feel super empathetic towards Hakkai, at the end of the day, he's a child who doesn't know how else to cope with the situation at home, so he makes up a lie to make himself feel better about the guilt of letting his sister take beatings for him. 

I can't even imagine the guilt and fear he has within himself. Poor baby for real. ugh, man. Yuzuha also was a parentized child, aka, forced to become an adult too soon at a young age and take on a caretaking role for those around her; preventing her from actually living out her childhood. It just fucking hurt to watch. It broke my heart. Taiju can suck my ass he deserves no pity from me fuck that bitch.
