man this broke my heart. Kana has literally adopted such an intense self protection mechanism that only harms her. She's essentially saying all the bad comments to herself before they're said so she can mentally prepare herself, but she's done it so much that she actually believes it and adopts it into her life. It just hurt me to see, but now that two other people are involved, she cant say it about them, because she just doesn't believe it, so instead she's internalising the responsibility of letting them down and the fear that comes along with that responsibility.

AH. that just hurts me. It's also interesting to see how they incorporated the idea of lying in a different way, it's still lying to protect yourself, just... differently.
