When lunchtime came around, Serina finally found an opening to dispose of the soaked pad that had been squishing in her panties for hours. She basically just stood around in the bathroom until everyone had left, quickly reached down, peeled it off her underwear, and tossed it. The wet spot that she had failed to notice had dried up in a faint stain that you wouldn’t be able to see if you weren’t looking for it. Well, when Serina went to sit with her friends at lunch, they were looking for it, along with Breanna.

“Hey guys, how was your morning?” Serina asked. They all nodded, acting strangely. Serina took notice of how close Tyler was sitting next to Breanna and scowled inquisitively. “That’s good. Same, thanks for asking.”

Again, silence. Everyone awkwardly took a bite of their food and averted their eyes. Serina got impatient but didn’t want to snap. Breanna’s presence at her table already annoyed her, but she wasn’t going to let her friends pick Breanna over her. She had to be careful.

“How much of an asshole was Ryan, hey?” Serina asked Yana directly.

“Yeah, that wasn’t cool of him,” she responded with fake sincerity.

“I nearly pissed my pants again, aha!” Serina said, making light of her accident again.

“Again? Oh, so you did pee your pants this morning? I thought that ‘didn’t happen,’” Breanna piped in, smiling smugly. Tyler smiled along with her, feeding off her energy. Serina fumed internally, trying to figure out how to handle the situation. Would she lie and say she peed herself or tell the truth? After a moment of tense waiting on behalf of her friends, she committed.

“Ah, well, yes...I guess I must’ve” She lied and immediately regretted it when she saw Breanna’s face light up with her victory.

“So...is it true the nurse gave you a diaper then?” Tyler asked. All three girls looked at him with daggers. By the time he realized what he had asked, Serina already responded.

“Who the fuck told you I was in a diaper?” She said, raising her voice and causing a few heads to turn around her.

Tyler scrambled. “Well, you know, Ryan said…”

“Ryan is a piece of shit liar who doesn’t know what he’s talking about! Why would you believe that garbage?”

“Well...I just…”

“We saw the leak on your butt Rina; your diaper leaked when Ryan was blocking you,” Claire confessed. Serina didn’t know how to respond. Her mind began racing with questions. ‘Did I leak? Are they lying? I did pee a lot and had to sit in it for a long time…’

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, but maybe I leaked into my panties a little and that’s what you saw?” Serina asked, not knowing for sure if that was a better explanation or not.

“Look, Rina, it’s all good. You can tell us, and we’ll support you. You don’t need to go through this problem alone,” Yara said, trying her best to comfort her. Serina was having none of it, and when she saw Breanna whisper something into Tyler’s ear that made him chuckle, she snapped.

“I don’t have to take this shit from you guys. I have nothing to prove,” she said while standing up. “So what, I pissed my pants; everyone does it!”

“And the accident yesterday?” Breanna reminded Serina, who stopped talking and turned red,  and the group, who just nodded in agreement.

“Fuck this. It was just a stupid accident, nothing is going on with me, and I’m definitely not in diapers!” Serina screamed at her so-called friends, and silence took over the cafeteria. Everyone was looking at her now.

Serina took one last look at Breanna and stormed off. Her face was hot and red, and she felt like she couldn’t decide between screaming or crying. She took her fumes to the bathroom and finished her stomping at the sink.

“You alright?” a voice asked from behind her. It was Ally. Serina looked behind her, then back to the sink.

“Fine,” she said definitively.

“Saw what you did posting that pic online yesterday, pretty ballsy.”

“Doesn’t even matter anymore. I thought people might talk about it for a day, but no one’s talking about it now. Well, maybe there are, but it’s just reinforcement of what they think is going on with me.”

“What’s going on with you?” She asked.

Serina scoffed. “What you didn’t hear about this morning? I...got my pants wet.”

“Oh man, bad timing there. Genuine accident?”

“No. I think my new ‘sister’ tried to sabotage me.”

“Yikes. It’ll blow over. Don’t let these things go to your head.”

“Well, thanks to her, my friends think I’m wearing diapers!”

“Are you wearing diapers?”

“No! Of course not!”

“Then who cares. You know you’re not; they should believe you if they’re really your friends. In my opinion, though, you shouldn’t give a fuck what people think about you. If they wanna think you wear diapers, they’re going to think you wear diapers. You know who you are.”

“I guess.”

“Look, everyone remembers that time I pissed my pants, right?”

“Yeah, they-”

“No, they don’t. You do because you care about what people think about you and other people. I pissed myself six times last year. I had to wear these thick pads for nine months because my mom was so sick of it. But you only know about the one because you were in the class when it happened.”

“I...oh.”

“You get what I’m saying. It’s the first two days of the school year; there is lots of time for people to forget these two days.”

“Yeah, that’s true.”

“So just forget about it. The sooner you do, the sooner everyone else will. Yeah, someone might bring it up now and again, but here’s what you say: Yeah, that was embarrassing. When’s the last time something embarrassing happened to you?”

“That’s...thanks.” Serina started to cool off. Her cheeks returned to her pale complexion, and her heart stopped beating so fast.

“You’ll be alright. If you ever need a chat, you have my number, right?” Ally asked on her way out.

“Yeah, I got it.”

“Okay, well, see ya!” Ally left the bathroom, leaving Serina alone to reflect. She starred in the mirror, her mind racing before turning around and twisting to look at her butt.

“Son of a bitch…” She whispered, seeing the faint stain of the pad leak. “Okay. Just get through the rest of the day and the week, and people will forget about it. We can do that, right?” she asked herself. When she finally regained her full strength, she opened up her phone, went to Instagram, and deleted the photo of her messy accident.
