General WIP update + Devlog 1 (Patreon)

(edit) patreon updated their UI. There's actually 9 pictures you just need to keep hitting the right arrow. idk how I feel about this change it was nice having all the thumbnails up front

Been pretty busy this week. I've been working on (re)learning the RPG maker engine and getting started on the game development as well as making all the characters.

As you can probably see I decided to stick with my usual renders rather than drawing over every piece. It ended up being way too time consuming for me to do as a solo dev in a reasonable amount of time. At least, not with all the expressions I want them to be capable of.

I think I have a dialogue system I'm happy with right now. I just want to refine it. Like having something besides a pure black box for the text to appear in. Right now it also runs the entire length of the screen which is a bit much. I like having the actors slide in from the side and changing pose mid conversation. I'll experiment around with animating them a bit more like how I had her slide away at the end. Or fading out whomever isn't talking.

I've also worked on getting plugins to add functionality I felt was needed. Such as being able to hide dialogue to view the CG in the background better. Also One to add the ability to play looping video, you know, for reasons ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°).

I've made 3 character so far with 3 more as works in progress. Well, they're technically all WIPS since any of them are subject to change. Though I might just include Lina in the game too cause I like her so much. Nobody is named but their working names are demon lord, succubus and otaku princess. Demon lord and succubus have full-emotion sheets though I might add more if I need them.

The game itself is using the spirtes that game with RPG MV right now. It looks pretty good to me but I might shop around for something that matches my theme a bit better. But it's fine as a filler for now regardless.

I'll also be releasing a quick animation tomorrow so look forward to that~

Anyways that's another update in the bag. Mostly it's just me creating assets but ideally I'll have more time in the actual engine next post.
