I love how in Wild Idol, contestants were actually allowed and even encouraged to show their competitive sides and be openly strategic, and I appreciated the comparative lack of image politics compared to most idol survival shows. Some of the choices they have to make in this show, ones where there are no 'good' or 'angelic' options, would get them cancelled on a program like Boys Planet lmao. But that made it more real and fun because there was less pressure to appear saintly 24/7. After all, it's a competition!

Btw gear up for team A drama, it only gets crazier from here!

You’ve heard “My House” before because during Boys Planet ep. 1 two different people did lackluster but super funny covers of it, the red house and blue house if you remember. Also, Kijoong, one of the members of Gunwook’s team, had actually debuted before in a group called UNB. That group disbanded, he went back to training, and then went to Wild Idol. The craziest thing is that him and Sung Hanbin are friends, like they have several pictures together before even Wild Idol happened during Kijoong’s UNB days and while he was training. Kijoong and Gunwook became good friends after Wild Idol too. I still find it crazy Kijoong is good friends to both of them and Hanbin and Gunwook eventually met at Boys Planet and debuted under the same group and are super close now. It’s crazy how many threads fate has between people. Kijoong and Hanbin being friends (both are born 2001) and then babying and befriending Gunwook (2005) in separate survival shows when not a lot of people did. It had to be fate.

The first time I watched this show I completely understood why Gunwook came into Boys Planet the way he did. He was READY and probably just grateful to have practice rooms with mirrors and sleep in a dorm instead of outside in a tent for that time around lmao.

I see it now, too. Context is everything. Looks like this show GROWED him lol!! 😂😂🔥🔥🔥

Ahhhhhh I love learning about this stuff, thank you Nina! The industry is super small, yet so vast with the amount of people in it....it's like these guys develop a little network of contacts/friends and navigate the business by going to auditions or signing up for survival programs, etc...it's such a hustle lol. I read that Kijoong just got out of the military in June...
