C&C Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge - "Drok" [METAL COVER] (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Here is the FULL VIDEO for my metal cover of DROK from Command and Conquer Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge!

This theme goes way back to my childhood as I was hugely into the Command and Conquer series as a kid starting with the first Red Alert game. Red Alert 2 was an absolute GOAT of a game and Yuri's Revenge came out and it was just an amazing time to be a C&C fan.

This theme Drok kicked in on the main menu theme for the first time on Yuri's Revenge and it just absolutely blew my mind. It was so heavy and my 10 year old self was just memorized by it. Frank Kelpacki is truly an innovator with video game music bringing it to new levels of heaviness with guitars and brutality. It really did impact me so much at the time and it feels great to finally pay homage to this awesome ost!

I went into the arrangement wanting to be very faithful to the original but of course I couldn't resist adding in my own little things here and there. I had a lot of fun messing around with the drums on certain parts to contrast with the original simple groove of the drums. Of course I made sure not to get too carried away which was a big challenge here. The simplicity of the original is what makes it crush so hard.

Guitars-wise it was a blast to bring out my 7 string and chug my face off. I love how my 7 string sounds and every opportunity that I get to play it is a great time. It was a blast playing a solo to one of Frank's iconic groovy riffs as well!
