Chrono Cross - Edge of Death [METAL VERSION] (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Here is the FULL VIDEO for my Metal cover of the INSANELY awesome theme known as the EDGE OF DEATH from Chrono Cross!

It feels amazing to finally dive into this treasure trove of an ost. There's so many amazing songs that I want to cover from this ost but I figured this banger of a theme was a great starting point. It has some SUPER metal vibes even on the original and I immediately felt inspired to take this one on and thrash out!

I went into this theme knowing we were about to go super beast mode on it and I put in a lot of thought and time into the rhythm guitar riffs. Making sure it has a solid foundation for those iconic melodies. The bass guitar as well really takes a front seat on this arrangement (as does most of the themes on this ost) and it was a blast to dial in a tone that really makes it jump out at you especially with it starting with only bass and drums in the intro.

Leads wise, oh man, this ost definitely doesn't hold anything back when it comes to melodies. On this theme, there's a lot of insane little parts in there; notably the main riff's little shred part which definitely was the most challenging part of this arrangement. But I was committed to nailing it and I'm super stoked on how all of it turned out. The other melodies in this theme were such a blast to play as well over the rhythm guitars.

Overall I had such a blast working on this theme and I'm very excited to take on more themes from this iconic ost. I hope you enjoy how this turned out and make sure to let me know what you think!
