Hey everyone! Here is the FULL VIDEO for my newest metal cover which is the absolutely rocking SUPER VILLAINS theme from MAXIMUM CARNAGE requested by makeshift!

I had such a blast working on this iconic theme. It's another example of how the SNES was definitely one of the most METAL consoles of all video game history.

This theme is all about being straight up balls-to-the-wall metal. And I went into this arrangement with my full chainmail and spikey gauntlets on ready to absolutely jam in as metal of a way as I possibly could.

The lead guitar parts were a TON of fun to learn. they clearly had guitar in mind when they put in these tasty bends and phrasings that translate flawlessly to guitar. I picked them up relatively quickly but it was also a nice challenge learning some new variations of licks that I commonly do but with a nice twist on it this time around.

Mixing wise it was also a ton of fun getting everything as huge as I possibly could and getting the lead guitars to slice through the mix as the original intended.

Overall I had a blast working on this and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Thanks so much for your amazing support and make sure to let me know what you think if you haven't yet!

The nostalgia is amazing

I agree that the SNES was super metal! You can really feel the composers smashing through their prior 8-bit restraints in so many of the OSTs from that era. They couldn't go full orchestral yet and so they still had to rely on writing melodies that stand super well on their own regardless of instrumentation, but they could still make things a LOT more complex and interesting and fun than was the case in the NES era. You can really feel it, especially in retrospect! I think that's a major reason why it's so much fun to cover (and to listen to covers of) music from that time. This cover is a superb example!
