Paper Mario: The Origami King [METAL COVER] "Autumn Mountain Battle Theme" (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Here is the FULL VIDEO for my metal cover of the amazing "Autumn Mountain Battle Theme" from Paper Mario: The Origami King!

This is definitely a theme that I knew I had to cover the second that I heard it. It's an epic battle theme once you're deeper in the game and things really start to pick up. It had everything I'd ever want in a battle theme; and epic driving rhythm section. A melody that gets stuck in your head basically forever, and instrumentation that fits the vibe of the area. 

That last point is a major factor for me, the Autumn Mountain area has this big eastern vibe to it with the Japanese instrumentation all over the place. That kind of stuff really gets me stoked. One of my favorite soundtracks of all time is still Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon for that reason and this theme kind of takes that musical idea right here into 2020. This theme also gives me huge Deltarune vibes with its heavy emphasis on bass guitar and piano to give it a huge driving feel (like Rude Buster).

Arrangement wise, I basically wanted to play the theme the way nature intended, only with some absolutely brutal metal guitars right in there. It's easier said than done though! I felt that I wanted to simplify some of the instrumentation, mainly the drums, to let the guitars just riff out and still have room for the crazy melodies. I think I really pulled it off though and I'm super happy with it!
