Hey everyone! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI for my metal cover of Paper Mario TTYD's "Bowser Battle" theme!

Rhythms:

Style - absurdly fast, technical, heavy riffs

Difficulty - 5/5

Our rhythms here are NO JOKE. But that being said, there are a few parts that are extremely straight forward and would be great for newer players! These riffs require a low B string so you'll need either a 7 string guitar or 6 string tuned super low to B standard.

We begin with our main riff which is the ehardest riff in the song. It's all about hammer ons and pull offs at lightning fast speed! It's super hard to figure out but once you get it, the muscle memory actually makes it not terribly hard. It's just about coordinating the left and right hand perfectly.

We then go into our verse which is a MUCH simpler riff. It's some heavy palm muting chugs going into the pre-chorus where we bring in some evil chords to compliment the chugs.

We then have our chorus where we're playing some big bar chords separated out between the elft and right rhythm guitar.

Finally we have our breakdown which is another 5/5 difficulty difficult section after our main riff repeats. It's all about insanely precise picking and muting.

Leads:

Style - dissonant  evil chords, palm muted leads

Difficulty - 2/5

Our leads are taking much more of a back seat to our insane rhythms. We provide textures and accents with our leads on this piece.

That being said, we open up the piece with the same difficulty as the rhythm guitar with that insanely fast hammer on pull off lick. This particular part needs an open B string which I elected to tune my 4th string down down a step so it's an open B. This means that it won't really be possible to play in a full playthrough of the song unfortunately unless you're in a drop B tuning.

We then enter our pre-chorus where we have our center lead playing some very spooky dissonant chords. And our harmonies are playing some accents that will be repeating throughout much of the song.

Then for our chorus, we play a super fun riff that's weirdly in a major key for the song but it fits perfectly when given context. It's a super fun lick that will probably need to be taken slowly at first then you'll get it once you practice!

That's about it! Hope you have fun learning these riffs and licks. If you have any questions, feel free to message me on here or discord!

Rock on!
