Hey everyone! Here are the tabs, backing track and MIDI file for my metal cover of Pokemon Sword & Shield's "Team Yell Battle Theme"!

Rhythms:

Style - death metal style, palm muting, djenty

Difficulty - 4/5

Our rhythms here can definitely get a little tricky but overall I think there are some parts here for all skill levels to have fun with!

We start off with a super tight palm muting riff on the 3rd fret. We tail it off with some big chords that jump all around the fret board.

Now we have our main riff where we do our death metal style riffage and ride that third fret.

Now for our verse, we're still on that 3rd fret but we're doing a more djent-style riff that's super tight and all palm muted. Probably my favorite riff in this theme!

Now we have our pre-chorus where we do some big open beefy chords and palm mutes. This is definitely one of the easier parts of the rhythms in this song.

Now for our chorus, we have probably the most challenging riff in the song but also I'd think it's the most fun riff as well! It's all about using the pinky and navigating around the fret board as quickly and efficiently as you can to hit all of those notes.

Leads:

Style - legato, octaves, whammy bar

Difficulty - 5/5

Our leads are also on the tricky side but they're also a ton of fun!

We open up with a super quick legato run between the 2 harmony guitars. And then bring in the slayer-style whammy bar spam.

For our main riff, we're riding on that whammy bar like there's no tomorrow and also trying to use our fretting hand to slide up and down to land on that same note to give it a cool sliding sound.

Now for our verse, we're moving an octave shape up and down the fret board super quick. This is a very tricky part but it sounds awesome once you get it. Take it slow!

For our pre-chorus, we're introducing some very stretchy octave / arpeggio shapes and ending it on a fat pinch harmonic.

Now for our chorus, we have our "mini solo" where we're doing a ton of bending and alternate picking. Take this part slow!

and finally we have our main solo which is actually a little easier than our mini solo earlier on, we're utilizing a lot of alternate picking and legato here as well!

That's about it! If you have any questions, feel free to message me on discord or on here.

Have fun and rock on!

~ Jack
