Hey everyone! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI files for my acoustic / metal cover of Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney's "The Fragrance of Dark Coffee" theme!

We have some amazingly chill and really fun melodies here that newer players will be able to handle with no problem! If you want to play some VGM and you're new to playing your instrument, I think this will be the perfect song for you!

Rhythms:

Style - power chords, strumming acoustic

Difficulty - 1/5

Our rhythms and acoustic here are about as straightforward as it gets! It's all about setting a chill vibe for the leads to shine over. We open up the song with the motif chord progression which does feature a couple of curve-ball chords but most of the chords are very standard guitar chords.

We then go into our distorted guitars with some big power chords here for our pre-verse.

For our verse, we play a virtually identical chord progression to our intro only now we're throwing a bit more rhythmic elements in there with a strumming pattern.

We then bring in the wall of electric guitars with some big power chords and that's about it for the song!

Leads:

Style - melodic, sliding

Difficulty - 1/5

Our leads here are also super straightforward and fun. We begin with the acoustic guitar melody incorporating a few slides in here.

Then our electric guitar leads come in with a tad bit of hammer on pull off action.

Our verse melody is a ton of fun here, it's a tad trickier than the intro but it's still totally chill. The harmony guitars coming in after this are probably about the most challenging lead in this minus the solo.

We then play our main melody again on electric guitar like we did earlier on acoustic.

Finally we have our solo which is actually pretty dang challenging. We begin with a fun bluesy lick and then go back up with some legato sliding. The second half of the solo goes down the B minor scale and up the A minor scale ending it with a melodic lead rising up to the E diminished.

That's about it for the song! If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up either on here or on my discord server.

Have fun and rock on!

~ Jack
