Hi everyone! Here is the finalized video for my metal cover of the amazing "Crashed Frigate" theme from Metroid Prime!

I couldn't hold myself back from giving another Metroid Prime theme some acoustic metal treatment especially after the amazing response that I got for Tallon Overworld. It feels so refreshing and fun to take on some more chill arrangements. I also just genuinely love the Metroid Prime ost and it's very nostalgic to me.

For this theme, I wanted to keep it as chill as I could but also not forget to bring in some beefy rhythm guitar riffs alongside the chill acoustic. Find the balance between these two was this week's challenge for me.

Another fun thing this week was getting to do a clean guitar solo?? I rarely ever get this opportunity so I really wanted to make it worth it. I flipped the coil tap on my guitar to get a nice single coil clean tone and shredded away. It felt very proggy and fun to do. Hopefully I can do that more in the future!

Thanks so much for your amazing support and let me know what you think of the video & what you'd like to see next. Enjoy!!

It's time to dive right back into the amazing world of Metroid Prime. After the amazing feedback on Tallon Overworld, I felt that I wanted to continue experimenting with some atmospheric arrangements of one of my favorite game's ost. There's something about Metroid music that's so compelling to me to figure out how it all works with the vast layers of synths of choirs making it all happen. For this theme, I tried my hardest to capture the vibe that the original has. This theme is very simplified and sad sounding so I tried to tone down the shredding just a tad and focus instead of creating a driving moving piece of music. For the solo section, however, I had a lot of fun with shredding. I couldn't resist doing a clean solo which I rarely do. It was a ton of fun messing around with some single coil tones. Overall I had a ton of fun on this arrangement. Let me know what you think and if you'd like to see more Metroid Prime. Showing my ignorance: what makes a solo clean or not clean, exactly? I don’t know what a coil tap is, so the explanation went a bit over my head.

My bad lol. It means that the guitar sound i'm using doesn't have any distortion to it but instead is running through a "clean" guitar sound which gives it a super sparkly and lighter tone

thanks so much! So for that scale I'm mostly playing in a Natural minor shape but at the very end I technically siwtch it up to dorian minor
