Hey everyone! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI for my Metal Cover of the amazing Tallon Overworld theme from Metroid Prime!

Rhythms:

Style - djenty, hammer ons

Difficulty - 1/5

Our rhythms here are super chill but that main riff is SO much fun. The rhythms on this arrangement take kind of a backseat to the acoustics and the atmospheric parts.

Our main riff is all about getting that djenty groove going and it's important to take note of that hammer on from the 3 to the 5. It gives it a super fun sound and makes it way easier to play. Another important thing with this riff is to use your picking hand to mute the strings properly; a staple of proper djent playing.

That's honestly the only main riff here that really stands out. Alongside that, we have some big open chords and a few little melodic passages that utilize some sliding later in the song (right before the chorus).

The acoustics here are also pretty chill but acoustic playing has a pretty high difficulty ceiling once you start really focusing on not letting strings ring out unintended. The chords themselves aren't anything too crazy though.

Leads:

Style - long ringing notes, sticatto playing, octaves

Difficulty - 1/5

Our leads here are also super chill along with the rhythms. This whole arrangement is all about having a dense atmosphere so I tried to make sure not to get too crazy with shredding.

That being said though, there is a brief little shred part that happens in the song on the harmony guitars where you're picking a little scale passage. That's definitely worth mentioning of being a challenge if you're a newer lead player! Take that part slow for sure.

We then of course have our amazing Tallon Overworld main melody that happens during the break section. For this part, I found myself wanting to play the notes on the same string and use slides to get more of a violin sound here. There are ways to play it without moving yout fretting hand as much but I find that it sounds ab it too robotic when you play it non slide-style. If you find the style that I wrote it in to be a bit challenging then feel free to send me a message and I can show you how it's done in a less crazy way.

That's about it! We then just have our outro melody that's super slow and very chill.

Overall this theme isn't about shredding but instead about delivering an atmosphere. Vibrato and sliding are essential here and I hope you all have fun working on these amazingly fun riffs and licks.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me on here or on my discord server.

Thanks so much and rock on!!
