Hey guys! Here is the completed video for my metal cover of Mega Turrican’s Stage 1 theme requested by my man Curtis P!

This soundtrack is so absolutely jamming. It has this retro, almost 80’s sounding vibe to it that really lends itself towards getting some tasty melody lines in alongside some jamming rhythms. It came at a really enjoyable time too coming from just doing a straight up modern shred Pokemon banger. This is like the total opposite in a way. Super chill and groovy. That being said, some of these licks are INSAAAAnE (looking at you arpeggios part)

This stage 1 theme is really cool because it has this repeating motif melody that morphs around different chord shapes and octaves throughout the piece. It almost isn’t even recognizable enough to tell that it’s the same melody over and over. But it is and it’s awesome! It really made twirl my facial hair in wonder figuring out how they take it in so many places almost without you realizing it.

Overall this was such a blast to put together and it was a really nice chill arrangement that let me jam out and also get some shred on as well. Thanks so much for the awesome request Curtis!

I hope you guys enjoy this arrangement and thank you guys so much for the amazing support! It means the world to me and this is just the beginning of the gauntlet of your guys' requests and slamming metal video game themes that will be coming out in the coming months. Let’s go!

Have a kick ass weekend! Play some video games and listen to metal ^_^ \m/

Hey guys! It's time to pay some love and respect to the Sega Genesis once again! The soundtrack to this game is such a blast from the past. It has these super 80's vibes with a lot of the rhythms and it made this arrangement such a fun challenge for digging the deepest grooves I could. The stage 1 theme is all about this particular melodic motif that happens throughout the entire piece. However, the underlying chords and phrasing of the melody throughout the piece is always changing. This made it such a cool dynamic to the piece and it was something much different than where you have different melodies throughout a piece that play different roles. I was very faithful to the original melodies but I really wanted to try and do some original ideas for the rhythm elements of this theme. I was experimenting with doing some breakdown-style riffs in place of the original driving beats for just a few sections. I love how this broke up the feel and made the song breathe a bit more for my arrangement. Overall I had such a blast with this arrangement. I want to give a huge thanks to Curtis for this awesome request and I want to thank all of you guys for watching and for your support.
