Hey guys! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI file for my metal cover of Twilight Princess' "Midna's Lament" theme featuring insaneintherainmusic on Piano and Sax!

This arrangement is really dynamic and great for all skill levels! Overall we have some super chill riffs and licks in here that are amazing practice for beginner players but also a ton of fun for even the shreddiest of shredders. Let's get into it!

Rhythms:

Style - Open chords, acoustic playing

Difficulty - 1/5

Our rhythm guitar arrangement on this is incredibly conservative and designed to let our lead guitars and saxaphone playing take the lead. This means that holding down the fort is incredibly straight forward and great for beginner players to get some practice on some fundamental rhythm guitar playing!

Our main riff is playing some D power chords with a cool descending nod to the main motif.

Following that we have our verse which is all acoustic guitar. We're strumming a D add 9 I believe it is? Music theory is weird. Anyway yeah it's a D with a 9th on it haha. Super straight forward and beautiful chord.

When our chorus kicks in, our distortion does too and we begin with some really melodic chords higher up on the frets. Then we back down into a chuggy breakdown style pattern with some palm mutes.

Our bridge section is where it gets a bit more technical as we play the piano riff but as a crushing rhythm guitar varient. It's not terribly hard but it'd be great practice for a beginning player to get some technical stuff going on.

and that's about it for rhythms!

Leads:

Style - melodic, legato

Difficulty - 1/5

Our leads are super straight forward as well (minus the impossible solo which I don't count towards the difficulty). The motif can be a tad challenging to newer players but it's at a slow pace and I'm sure you guys can nail it once you practice it a bit!

The main melody is incredibly straight forward and melodic. It's a beautiful Zelda-style melody that you can do so much with. I added some fun little twists in there but you guys can do your own thing with it as well!

The chorus is another beautiful melody that's at a slow pace like most of this song.

The solo is absolutely insane and I'm sure it will challenge most players unless you are insaaanely skilled. It sure challenged me haha. It opens up with some alternate picking then instantly switches to tapping. then it ends with a blazing fast tapping lick.

That's really about it guys! These melodies are a ton of fun, they're beautiful and really allow you to add your own twists to them as you go along. I hope you guys have a blast playing these riffs and licks and if you guys have any questions, please hit me up either on here or on my Discord server!

Have fun and shred on!
