Hey guys! Here are the tabs, backing track, and MIDI for my metal cover of Little Big Planet 2's "Planetarium" Theme requested by AyeeKyro!

Rhythms:

Style - quick alternate picking, string navigation with right hand

Difficulty - 4/5

Our rhythms have a few chilled out parts but overall we have some pretty challenging stuff in here! Let's break it down section by section.

The first intro riff is one of the easiest riffs in the song and it's a ton of fun! It has some power chords with some really quick 16th note alternate picks that feel super good when you nail it.

We then quickly get into a challenging part where we do straight 16th notes really quickly but this is a great opportunity to practice your alternate picking and get your right hand super tight! If you can't nail it at this speed (which is very fast) then take it slow and get it down!

Our verse riff is just some open chords that aren't difficult, we're letting our lead guitars do the heavy lifting here. Then we go back into a similar style riff as our intro with some slightly different chords.

Our Chorus is where things get absolutely nuts. This string skipping riff is super tough to get clean and I highly recommend you take it slow. It took me a while to nail this part so don't feel bad if it takes you a while to nail it too!

After that we repeat our previous sections and end it with a super heavy breakdown. The breakdown is very satisfying after this epic technical journey. Just slam some heavy chords and let your guitar breathe as we end the track!

Leads

Style - massive string skipping, finger tapping

Difficulty - 5/5

Our leads are overall super challenging here! Let's break down the parts

We start off with the hardest lick in the song which is this finger tapping. This took me hours, and hours of practicing to get this down. It is hard. no matter what haha. Those little quick picking things in there make it even harder because you switch up the flow of the tapping every couple of bars. If you're eager to learn this then definitely take it slow and be patient! I can do it and so can you!

Our main melody is thankfully very easy and fun. It's a melodic E minor passage that's very standard and lets you express some vibrato a bit here.

Then our Verse cont. is suddenly throwing in some string skipping which we'll be seeing all over this track. These licks are super out there and I tried my hardest to make them as easy to navigate as possible, but in order to keep your hand from jumping around, you have to jump strings quite a bit. This is a cool way to practice string skipping though! They're honestly not super hard once you practice them and get your right hand cleanly navigating between strings.

Our chorus riff, like the rhythms, is tough. This is just a really tough section haha. The picking is very spastic and we're incorporating more string skipping into that. Take all of this stuff slowly and be patient!

The rest of the leads pretty much follow a similar style; we're relying heavily on string skipping and quick bursts of alternate picking. The melodies thankfully aren't super fast but just kind of overall very unique and unorthodox to play on guitar. This definitely isn't a standard melody haha. That's what makes the song so cool and unique though. I honestly really enjoyed these parts once I got them a bit more figured out.

I hope you guys enjoy learning these licks and if you have any questions, feel free to hit me up on here or on my discord server!

Thanks!!
