So we are excitedly packing for our family holiday. It’s only a short one of 5 days but it is somewhere very exciting we have been meaning to go to for ages- San Sebastián in northern Spain. It looks stunning and apparently the Tapas is among the best in Spain. We are staying in an AirbnB in the old town.  We can't wait!

The MMM will be in the capable hands of our wonderful dog (and cat) sitter Mark! Coco will be very excited as she loves Mark.

We won’t be editing a vlog this week I’m afraid as we want to dedicate all our time to the girls (basically playing board games and making sandcastles and eating  ice-cream!). But we will take some footage and show some of the city in the vlog the Wednesday after next,

In the meantime I wanted to share something funny. When we were in the Rusiñol museum in Sitges we discovered that he was an avid collector of what we thought were olive oil or wine jugs like the one got from the previous owners of Can Punxes.

It turns out that they are not actually wine jugs in the way we thought.

As the guide in the museum explained they are designed for pouring wine yes but not into glasses, but directly into the mouth!! Preferably while singing a traditional folk song. Apparently the ideal is to pour the wine onto your lips just above your mouth and this then makes it easier to sing. It is a serious and long established tradition in Spain. The pourers in the museum are Catalan ones from the 18th and 19th centuries!

This is a video of a man with a not so pretty pourer but you get the idea.

Needless to say I haven’t actually yet put our pourer to its proper use… yet.
